El Zapato was founded in 2015 by best friends Leticia Gaskell and Emily Hall, who saw a gap in the market for great quality, fashionable and affordable shoes and accessories for the quintessential Australian laid-back lifestyle.
Together, these two working mothers, with backgrounds covering fashion and travel, have grown a brand and created a style that is all their own. Today, the El Zapato brand covers ladies leather goods, accessories and a complementary range of children’s shoes and accessories under their El Zapato Mini label.
Both ladies juggle the demands of their fashion business with the needs of their own growing families and other projects. Emily is raising 2.5 year old Harry and pregnant with her second whilst still working in her lifelong passion of travel and exploration as a boutique travel consultant. Leticia raises her two under two; Edie and Lulu, and still manages time to offer her fashion consulting advice as a Stylist.
EL ZAPATO has started from humble beginnings & we have grown as a business with our same manufacturer from day one. Our brand's mission is to design & manufacture well considered products.
All of our items are made consciously & responsibly. The majority of our shoes & jackets are made to order to minimise waste & reduce impact on our environment. Our manufacturing team is visited by us personally numerous times each year and we are committed to ensuring they receive proper remuneration, healthy hours & quality working conditions.
