Our Interview with Ginelle

Tell us a little bit about you?

A makeup artist and hair stylist by trade - with over 15 years of experience within the industry, fortunate enough to have travelled worldwide for photoshoots and destination weddings.

Mantra -  Create positive energy - The way I see my clients and woman I surround myself with in my personal and professional world’s is simple - Put thought and love into a person and it will make something alive within them - that energy is then transferred to its next owner, creating a domino effect of good vibes to anyone they encounter that day.

Having suffered from eczema most of my life I am obsessed with skin health and connection between the gut for internal beauty and an external glow - the constant revelations on this topic always fascinate me.

Where I work and live needs to be a daily source of inspiration to get the creative energy flowing - I am very sensitive to my aesthetic surroundings and detail orientated - perfect for being in this industry ;)

Even though the beauty industry is my career and I consider it a creative outlet - I am constantly outsourcing my energy through multiple mediums:

Style - If you feel confident in what you're wearing you'll always have a better day, it’s an expression you get to play around with you entire life! how fun for us!

I am constantly drawn to statement accessories to enhance a tonal outfit and express myself and my mood for the day.

Travel - It speaks to my soul - I always return from a trip (no matter how big or small) inspired + fulfilled.

Cooking - My dad used to be a chef and I learnt a lot from him over my life in the kitchen - I love throwing something together out of nothing and seeing what the end result is - always delicious.

Music - is a MAJOR part of my mood - never underestimate a good tune for your mental state. If you've been in my studio, you know I always have a playlist going. Find me on Spotify for a good time ;)

Alternative therapies and Yoga - If you haven't tried acupuncture before - get onto it. So many benefits to help regulate hormonal issues and life stress. Yoga is not only a release for my body after doing a full day of clients, but also my mind to re-energise.

If Im not working, Ill be Pinteresting my life away with an earl grey tea, beach bound or in nature with my partner, Scott and furry love of my life - our Mini-Groodle, Albert.

If you could give us one piece of advice in life or business?

Starting your own business or next life venture may be the hardest choice you'll ever have to make for your overall happiness - There will always be roadblocks along the way -  that's just a thing called life. I have dealt with terminal family illness, personal growth challenges, changing creative paths and feeling at a crossroads. But I strongly believe if you're wanting to take the plunge and you can feel the intuitive drive to take the leap for yourself - you will never look back!

If you ever feel at your lowest - uncertain, doubting/comparing yourself, diminishing your own capability and success - please understand that the strength and potential that exists is within yourself. If you're willing to put in the work for your personal growth to achieve your goals anything is possible.

Surround yourself with people who's energy enhances your own and you're already one step closer to being stronger than you initially thought. We live in a time where opportunity and growth is everywhere - you just need to outsource it.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

Travelling overseas for my job - B.C. COVID I was fortunate enough to spend a few months each year based out of Europe + London for destination jobs in some of the most breathtaking locations. It was a goal I had dreamt about way before starting my own business - to think that dream turned into a reality where people wanted me to be apart of their special days abroad was a huge pinch myself moment.

I find myself constantly reflecting on this experience as one that shaped me to the person I am today and I cannot wait to do it again in the future.

Which woman/women do you admire the most?

How can I pick one? In my job I am fortunate to be surrounded by so many beautiful and inspiring souls who share their wisdom and life journey on a daily basis - ultimately inspiring me in subtle or big ways to grow and progress myself to be a better person!

Today I love how there is an intergenerational sharing of wisdom, traditions, style and overall worldly knowledge on how to be a woman in this new age -  which is so beautiful.  It gives being a woman a higher meaning - Ageism is no longer a factor segregating the young from well-lived. I love hearing from women - customers, other industry professionals, healers, mothers, makers, artists and everyday people finding out what they know - I just want to conjure all wisdom I can to improve my own energy and life plan to inspire others!

To put it simply - Being female is a privilege and I am inspired on a daily basis by everyday women I meet and I hope that I can return the favour to those in the future feeling lost in this lifetime!
